Learn to dance every Friday night; then stay and dance.
For ages dancing has been an important part of socializing, exercising, meeting people and having fun.
For more than two decades group lessons have been taught at Auburn Senior Center, presently and for the past few years, by Hye Archer who is a certified instructor, previously assisted by Barry Connick.
In 2013 the Auburn Social Dancers Club was formed. The goal of Hye Archer is for the students to learn and enjoy dancing while having fun socially.
Auburn Social Dancers offer lessons every Friday night at 6:00 pm followed at 7:30 pm by a Social Dance which is open to all dancers and attended by many of Hye’s former students. Although these are at the Auburn Senior Center, people are all ages are welcome and encouraged to take lessons and participate in all social dances.
A Sunday afternoon social dance with a complimentary lesson is another highlight of the Auburn Social Dance program. These Sunday dances are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 3 to 5:30 pm.
A different dance is taught each month so it's good to come on the first Friday of the month to get the entire instruction sequence. Previous lessons for the dance being taught are reviewed each week so it is also fine to come and begin at any time.
Do come, participate, and enjoy Social Dancing with us in the delightful Burback Hall at 550 High Street in Auburn.
